З листопада 2018 р. у нашій гімназії діє гурток любителів англійської мови (English Club) для старших класів та учнів середньої ланки. Скот з великою відповідальністю готується до кожної зустрічі.

ХЕЛОУІН

31 жовтня волонтер Корпусу Миру Скотт Бучхольц разом із учителями англійської мови Піщанської гімназії провів годину спілкування на тему ''Американські свята. Хелоуін''. Діти дізналися про походження, традиції та атрибутику свята,а також подивилися тематичні відео, виготовили маски та отримали солодощі.

ДЕНЬ ПОДЯКИ

Скот продовжує знайомити учнів Піщанської гімназії з культурою та традиціями своєї країни. У четвер, 22 листопада, він провів цікаве заняття в клубі любителів англійської мови на тему «Американські свята. День Подяки». Учні дізналися про свято, яке американці полюбляють не менше Різдва, свято, коли вся родина збирається разом на вечерю, основною стравою якої є індичка, коли люди дякують своїм рідним і Богу за все, що вони мають у своєму житті. Було цікаво і весело!

ТРАДИЦІЇ СВЯТКУВАННЯ РІЗДВА У США

Тема засідання англійського клубу 18.12.2018 - '' Традиції святкування Різдва у США ". Учні мали нагоду почути та побачити, як американці святкують Різдво, прикрашають свої будинки, вулиці та подвір'я. Скот продемонстрував відео, нещодавно зняте його мамою, як виглядають вулиці його рідного міста Фулертон у ці святкові дні. Діти вкотре мали нагоду почути англійську мову від носія, поспілкуватися та виконати безліч цікавих завдань.

Урок історії та англійської мови

Ідея бінарного (інтегрованого) уроку саме за темою Сполучені Штати Америки з всесвітньої історії та англійської мови в 10 класі прийшла учителям Ткаченку В.І. та Трахтман Л.Ф. не випадково, адже Скот саме з Америки та ще й історик за освітою. Він із задоволенням погодився висвітлити питання - «Новий курс» Ф.Д.Рузвельта, підготувавши цікаву презентацію. Разом з характеристикою доби «проспериті», визначенням причин і наслідків «Великої депресії», розумінням актуальності напрямків «Нового курсу» для сьогодення України, метою уроку також було – розвивати вміння читати, вести дискусію, добирати потрібну інформацію та презентувати її англійською мовою. Учні підготували цікаві повідомлення та взяли участь у історичних іграх.

Урок англійської мови на тему « Їжа»

Учитель англійської мови Івасенко В.В. разом із волонтером Корпусу Миру провели нестандартний урок на тему « Їжа». За допомогою мультимедійних засобів вони вдосконалювали навички усного мовлення, письма і читання. Діти повторювали методи приготування страв за допомогою вправ зроблених в сервісі «Learning Аpps»; склали вірш-оду їжі, використовуючи інтерактивну дошку; розгадували кросворди (друкуючи літери). Учні розповідали про способи приготування борщу-української національної страви, попередньо показавши на дошці інгредієнти (малюнки) і способи приготування.

Урок біології та англійської мови «Ми є те, що ми їмо.»

Від чого залежить здоров’я людини? Які чинники здорового способу життя? На інтегрованому уроці «англійська + біологія» (учителі Трахтман Л.Ф., Ткаченко Ю.М., волонтер Скотт) учні шукали відповіді на ці актуальні для кожного питання. Діти досліджували «Правило тарілки», яке є прикладом збалансованого харчування, що дозволяє не набрати зайвих кілограмів і одночасно мати раціональне і різноманітне харчування. Що головніше: спорт чи правильне харчування – тема дебатів між двома командами учнів. Підсумком уроку стали слова Сократа: «Ми живемо не для того, щоб їсти, а їмо для того, щоб жити», а також слова народної мудрості: «В здоровому тілі – здоровий дух!».

Уроки англійської мови на тему « День Подяки.»

У четвер, 22 листопада, учитель англійської мови Пидорина В.А. та Скот Бучхольц провели цікаві уроки про традиції святкування Дня Подяки у США. Скот розповів як відзначають це свято у його родині. Учні дивилися відео, співали пісні, писали листи з подякою своїм рідним, малювали вітальні листівки, читали тематичні тексти, приймали участь у конкурсах та виконували безліч цікавих завдань.

Thanksgiving Day

There is one day a year when all Americans stay home with their families and eat a big dinner. This is Thanksgiving Day.

The pilgrims celebrated the first Thanksgiving Day in the fall of 1621. The pilgrims sailed to America on board the "Mayflower" ship for religious freedom. They were among the first European settlers in America. There were people living in America before the pilgrims arrived. These people were the Native American Indians.

The pilgrims first winter in the New World was very difficult. They had arrived too late to grow many crops. Without fresh food half of the pilgrims died. The following spring the Indians taught the pilgrims how to hunt, fish, plant and survive in America. The crops did well and in the fall of 1621 pilgrims had a great harvest. They were thankful and decided to celebrate with a Thanksgiving feast. They prepared a dinner of turkey, corn, beans and pumpkins. They invited their Indian friends to share this feast. The Indians brought food for the feast too (they even brought popcorn!)

Americans still celebrate Thanksgiving Day in the fall. It is celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November. Turkey is still the main dish and pumpkin pie is the most popular dessert.
